Mr. Brooks Ronald Green, Sr., 83, of Blackshear passed away Thursday evening, April 11, 2024, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas.
Born in Jacksonville, FL on November 25, 1940, he had lived Callahan, FL prior to moving to Blackshear 35 years ago. Mr. Green worked for Specialty Tank & Equipment for many years before branching off on his own as a self-employed truck driver. Good with electronics, he was a certified Ham Radio operator (callsign WA4TLO) and tester. In his younger days, Mr. Green enjoyed waterskiing. He enjoyed being with his family and was of the Baptist faith.
He was a son of the late Charles Lewis & Talitha Conner Green. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joy Elaine Fowler Green; a son, Brooks R. Green, Jr.; a grandson, Brandon Lee Green; and by a brother, Charles Green.
Survivors include his daughter, BaLinda Green (Bill Godwin) of Blackshear; his sister, Martha Harrell of Jacksonville; his brother, Lewis Goodwin of Waycross; 4 grandchildren, Shane Roeder, Shawn Roeder, Heather Morgan, and Bud Williamson; several great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Memorialization was by cremation.
